The half bath is a room that gets overlooked in most households. Many homeowners are eager to update their master bathroom or guest (or kid’s) bathroom, but give little thought to the half bath. After all, it’s so small, what is there to do? However, if you think about it, your half bath probably gets seen by more guests than either of your other two bathrooms. This is especially true if it is your only bathroom on the first floor. So why not show it some love and inject some of your personal style? Our team at Indy Renovation has some ideas to renovate your bathroom, transforming it from boring and forgotten to updated and stylish.

3 Design Ideas to Update Your Half Bath

1. Ditch the Pedestal Sink

A pedestal sink has its charm, but if you’re looking to add some character and storage to your space, a small vanity is going to be your best friend. Pedestal sinks are a good idea if you truly do not have any space to spare. But, if you can fit one in, a vanity is going to give you a lot more options and style choices. Pedestal sinks have a very limited range of design options, while vanities allow for customization and added storage. Think of how nice it will be to have a place to store your extra towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and other items.

2. Upgrade Your Toilet

Again, the toilet in your half bath probably sees more action than the other toilets in your home, so it’s a great idea to upgrade it. If you’ve never replaced the toilet in your home, chances are it’s outdated and ugly. Today, toilets are made to sit higher for comfort, and they are also eco-friendly, featuring water-saving options and fast-flushing capabilities.

3. Add a Fresh Coat of Paint

A fun way to change up the half bath is to do a fun, new paint color – or maybe even wallpaper. Light colors are a good idea in a small space, but don’t feel like you have to stick to just whites or grays. An accent wall with an exciting pop of color, or a patterned wallpaper, can be just the thing to brighten up your bathroom.
