3 Ways to Remodel Your Bathroom for Easier Cleaning

When a homeowner plans a remodel, many times they’re focused on redesigning the layout, updating out-of-date features, or adding touches of luxury to their spaces. However, at Indy Renovation, we not only love to create beautiful spaces, we also pride ourselves in making bathrooms more functional for Indianapolis homeowners. With the right materials and designs, you can actually make your bathroom more user-friendly and easier to clean!

1. Stick to Solid Surfaces

Grouted tile floors and countertops take much more work to clean than smooth and seamless surfaces. If you have to use tile, make sure to pick a smooth tile that is large in size. Large tiles minimize the amount of grout lines between them. When choosing your countertops, consider a quartz countertop that can be made to order in one slab without any seams.

2. Go Minimalist

The more intricate the decorative work on things like your faucet or other fixtures, the more time you will have to spend cleaning them. Mildew loves to grow in the tiny, moist places in your bathroom, and the handles on an intricate tap gather dirt and oil from your hands when you use them. Instead, choose a faucet with few details and a smooth finish to reduce the amount of time you will have to spend cleaning your faucets and taps.

3. Choose a Frameless Shower Door

Framed shower doors collect all kinds of dirt in the track the door runs on and in the seams in the frame. Plus, water and dirt gets trapped in the nooks and crannies and under the rail, which is very difficult to clean. In contrast, a frameless glass shower door only requires a wipe down of the glass to stay clean! Also, as an added bonus, frameless shower doors are a beautiful way to make your bathroom seem bigger!
